I was checking out links from the Classics for Kids website Angel brought up in  another thread, I found this little gem: The 90-Second Naturalist.  The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden in conjunction with public radio station WGUC produces these quick discussions of natural topics.  They are aimed at a grown-up audience, but approachable for kids.  Recent topics include:
  • Chimpanzee Altruism     
  • Snail Eating Beetles    
  • Chicks Prefer Latest Tunes    
  • Urban Birds Are Getting Louder

Definitely worth a look, and there are likely some that we'll be looking into in more detail...

These podcasts are targeted for a grown-up Public Radio audience, but they are great discussion-starters for older elementary and up.
